Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced on Thursday that Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys received STEM accreditation from Cognia, a global non-profit organization and one of the world’s leading institutions for educational accreditation and school development.

Global Recognition: Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys achieved STEM accreditation from Cognia with an exceptional 3.9 out of 4 rating, reinforcing the international credibility of its curriculum and enhancing graduates’ prospects for admission to leading universities in medicine, engineering, and computer science.

In a statement, the ministry said that this accreditation followed a rigorous and comprehensive review that resulted in an exceptional evaluation of the school, which received a score of 3.9 out of 4, significantly exceeding the required accreditation threshold of 2.7. It emphasized that this distinction reflects the high quality of the school’s educational outcomes and aligns with the efforts of the ministry’s department of vocational, technical, and specialized education to provide pioneering education that meets national aspirations.

The ministry further noted that this accreditation transcends the traditional model of school evaluation, representing an “international endorsement” and a strategic partnership that grants the STEM curriculum global recognition and high credibility. This confirms to prestigious universities worldwide that the school’s outcomes meet international standards and helps overcome obstacles to academic admission for its students in vital fields such as medicine, engineering, and computer science.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education also noted that this accreditation will enhance the quality of teaching performance by monitoring student engagement and designing lessons tailored to their abilities. It will also provide professional development programs that meet teachers’ actual needs, eliminating unnecessary logistical burdens. The ministry emphasized that this accreditation mandates a firm commitment to continuously updating implementation plans and risk management strategies based on periodic reviews and reports issued by international evalators. This constitutes a transparency document that strengthens the school’s standing in the community and enhances its ability to attract high-achieving students.

It further said that, under this accreditation, the school is committed to a continuous, evidence-based evaluation framework covering three strategic pillars: leadership, learning, and resource efficiency. This ensures the establishment of a balanced institutional environment that integrates the quality of educational outcomes with the efficiency of operational processes.
